Rockin' on the River April 5-6

Promotes Autism Awareness

The Rockin' on the River fundraising event April 5-6 moved to a new location this year on the shores of Lake Pierce at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, April 5 with music by The Nathan Baldwin Band and then Darryl Worley hits the stage at 7:30 p.m. Worley will be signing autographs while BURN sets up to start their 10 p.m. performance.

Saturday's festivities will start with opening ceremonies at noon with a special guest appearance by the Polk County Special Olympics Equestrian Team. After the presentation of Colors, the music festival will kick off with the Polk County Porch Pickers, 2019 Polk County's Best of the Best Winners. The rest of the day will be filled with the music of Southerndipity starting at 2 p.m., Kat and the Dawgs at 4 p.m., Black Water at 6 p.m. and the TITANS OF ROCK performing a Journey/Bon Jovi tribute at 8 p.m. and Josh Blevins Band at 10 p.m.

The event will have a Kids Zone with bounce house and a cornhole tournament. Food trucks will be on hand and adult beverages will be available for sale. Parking is $10 for one day or $15 for the weekend. Self-contained camping is available.

Rockin' on the River promotes autism awareness and support.Proceeds from this year's event will benefit Victory Ridge Academy and Circle of Friends Ministry in Lake Wales and the Sidestreet Art Beat in Winter Haven.

The Florida FFA Leadership Training Center is located at 5000 Firetower Road in Haines City.
