Vernon R. Forbes of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Sunday, Feb. 17 at Osceola Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 27, 1941 in Bristol, CT to the late William and Evelyn (Cote) Forbes. In his early years he lived in Concord, Vermont. He and Linda raised their family in Terryville, Connecticut. He has been a resident of the Lake Wales area since 2014 coming from Connecticut. He was a Foreman for PA-Ted Spring Company for 30 years. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army (1959-1961), and a member of the Solid Rock Church in Winter Haven. Vernon was a talented Artist and Wood Worker and he could fix anything. He loved his dog, Ollie, and was a very generous person with a very big heart and sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his son Daniel Forbes and sister Shirley Emery. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Linda (Eisenhauer) Forbes, daughters Jill Little and husband Travis of Bristol, CT, Sue Forbes and fiancé Fenn Cross of San Diego, CA, sisters Lillian O'Keefe and husband Tom of Winter Haven, FL, Lucille Forbes of Lake Wales, FL, brothers Lenny Forbes and wife Adeline of Brick, NJ, Michael Forbes of Bristol, CT, Tori Deloy and her former husband Rob Morrell and their 3 children who lovingly called him Grandpa Vern. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
