Pancakes and Auction Benefit Local Children

Kiwanis hosts 43rd Annual Festival

Come out to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 7-10 a.m. for the Lake Wales Kiwanis Club's all-you-can eat breakfast of pancakes and sausage. The church is located at 644 S. 9th Street in Lake Wales.

As part of the pancake festival activities, other events will run simultaneously with the breakfast, including a 20-family garage sale, silent auction and plant sale.

A live auction will be held at 10 a.m. for golf opportunities, weekend trips, an airboat ride, autographed items, admissions to zoos, comedy clubs, theaters, museums, theme parks, and meals at area restaurants. Also available are massages, electronic equipment, designer sunglasses, handmade items, sporting event passes, sports lessons, car maintenance certificates, haircuts, art, toys, office supplies and equipment, yard supplies, tropical plants, furniture... The list goes on and on!

Breakfast is sponsored by IHOP. The Auction Platinum Sponsor is Century 21 At Your Service Realty, Kenneth and Ruthie Welch.

Each adult present at the Auction gets one no-purchase-necessary opportunity to win the cash prizes and other door prizes. Those who purchase items at the Kash-n-Karry Gift Certificates Tables from 7-10 a.m. also will receive extra chances, but they must be present to win. The auction starts at 10 a.m.

Pancake tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Contact Kiwanis President/Chairman Larry Tonjes at 863-632-2397 or Attorney Cynthia Rignanese at 863-294-1114 for tickets or information.
